Posted this in the back porch since that section has the most traffic, but thought it should also be posted here. I did a search and couldn't find an answer and the link at installuniversity.com is down. I want to use a floor jack to lift the car from rear. I use ramps to lift the a$$ a little but I need both tires off the ground and I'm not sure where to place the jack. I was going to place it on the rear differential housing, but thought I SHOULD check here first. Thanks for the advice!

Yes, place a small block of wood on top of the jack plate to protect the housing and jack it up. Keep the jack clear of the sway bar.

This is safe single point lifting. Then you can put your jack stands between the shock and sway bar mounts on either side of the axle tubes. This the preferred method of loading the rear suspension for the installation of one type of SFC's
