i have looked into the zz9 cam cause it will give the LT1 45hp on stock heads alone i read in a summit book how to build LT1's. it also gives a nice smooth idle- i don't want a rough idle. any other cams out there that are in the same price range as this that are smooth and nice hp gains? i have 1.6 rockers i'm installing in my afr heads- when i decide which type of head i want from afr.also what would be the benefit to upgrading to new springs and retainers- just for safety so they don't fail on me? here are the mods i have installed already - 373 gears-Loudmouth exhuast with offroad pipe -mac midlength headers coated-160 stat- power program -kn cold air kit from under neath fender -fan switch -IAT throttle response- throttle bypass -52mm TB -1Le bellow-high flow maf -2800 stall -shift firmness kit.

Call Summit Racing or Jegs and they both have a tech line that can help you decide what cam to use with your trans and gearing. The valve springs should be replaced anytime a higher lift cam is installed or when the engine has high miles. That will help insure against any valve float. [Smile]

I wouldn't call Summit, I'd call someone like www.nu-tekmotorsports.com for advice.

They do custom grinds based on your car, the other compenents and how you use it.

Ask for Nick.
