My spring has came of the console lid hinge and I'm not sure how to reinstall it. It doesn't seem to be broken & not sure how it came off since my car is driven rarely. I found it laying in the bottom of my console one day. [Confused]

Can anyone help?

I just looked thru the GM Fbody shop manual and did not see a listing or diagram for the console lid spring.The only spring they show is for the cup holder.If I get time later I need to start up my SS anyway and will look at the spring.

and if i'm not wrong you have to buy complete assy. i remember reading this someplace but have been to busy to look into it.

I had the same thing happen, and it was repaired under warranty. The entire hinge needs to be replaced - you can't just repair the spring.

Is the 2002 camero console lid and hinge the same as the 2002 Firebird?

I acutally just recently had a person who owns a 1969 Z28 send me his application to join the Eastern Michigan Camaro Club and he spelled Camaro wrong. [Smile]
