My son has a 1998 S-10 with a 5 speed and the back up lights do not work. Anyone know which sending unit on the transmission is for the back up lights? Thanks in advance.

If you suspect the back up lamp switch and all of the fuses are good, there should be 12v with the key on to one of the switches. Find the correct switch and unplug the connector.Take a jumper wire or a paper clip and jump the 2 wire terminals in the connector.If the switch was bad the back up lights should come on. The back up light switch may have a green wire going to it.Let me know if this helps. [Smile]

If I remember right from my old jeep
the reverse light switch is screwed into the drivers side of the transmission housing...
