i have a 94 z28 with raybestoes rotors and pads. when i had the rotors cut maybe two years ago. my car spends more time in the garage under two covers then driven,but the back rotors always have a rust look to them and when i do drive the car and use the brakes. i come home and look at my chrome rims real close and you can see the powder from the rotors on them makes me so mad. front rotors are the same kind and have never done this. how can i get rid of the rust on the rotors?

Is the rust on the brake pad surface? If so, that is from the car sitting a while and the moisture in the air rusting then. If the rust is comming from the cooling fins of the rotor,you may be able to sand blast it off or worse case get new rotors and paint between the fins and the hubs before you install them.

yes it is on the flat part where the pad meets the rotor. its strange why the front rotors are the same exact type and they don't do it...

You have to figure that rotor brake pad surface is bare metal and could rust. After I wash my truck and my wife's car, the rotors are already rusted until I move the car a few feet and apply the brake. Unless your car is in a low humidity garage,there is probably not much you can do.

well the garage has no insulation as of right now but this summer i'm going to town and going to make sure it stays warm for the winter with my heater. ok thanks
