The STB is from SLP, it is close to the covers but does not touch. The covers are easy to remove after you remove the STB. Takes about 15 minutes to remove and replace after the the brace is removed, a crows foot helps get the brace off quickly. All together about 30 miutes, taking your time. The covers get easier to remove after you do it a couple of times. Hardest part is getting the hose off that runs along the back and getting it hooked back up. Worth the work though.

Covers look GREAT! See I told you it gets easier, patience is all it takes. I hope you saved the silver tape for the fuel lines you'll need it if you take the covers off.

Any input will help.

The covers from mike are already modified to fit our cars. Mike does a great job of making these fit and look great. I had no cutting or alterting to do what so ever. These are a top grade modification from Mike and I highly recomend them.

First of all you want to either remove the
plastic push pins that hold the weather stripping down next to the windshield. These will kill the back of your hands.... I removed them all plus the rubber weather stripping. I don't figure the SS will be in many rain storms so I got rid of it. My bad! Also on the fuel rails there are black/white loops that hold the wire harness for the injectors, you have to remove all of them for the covers to sit flat and snug. I used tie wraps to hold the harness to the fuel rail instead. Remove the STP if you have one. Pull the oil cap and dip stick off. Remove the heat tape from the fuel lines and seperate them. I cleaned them up with isopropyl rubbing alcohol and coated them with Zaino tire gloss. THIS, is the biggest thing to do to make the whole installation easy, and that is to pull the large black hose that comes up from the exhaust. It's on one side and swings all
the way over to the other side in the back. Pull the clamp off the hose and pull hose off of the exhaust, that hose is the biggest thing that's in the way and hampers you putting the covers on. I leave the clamps off because the hose is a pain in the A$$ to pull off all the time. Its a snug fit so its not going anywhere to fall off. I didn't have them clamped at Limerock and they never
seperated at all. Also left the covers off at Limerock for better circulation of heat.
If you do all this to start off with the covers will go on smoother and faster. You have to struggle with it to find what works for you, I did. Good luck! Paul Lech F98-2015
Good luck Mary and Ralph F99-3312
