I was told to page you for a lesson about suspension. I own a 99 ss with headers, exaust, mass air flow meter and box, and a computer chip. It's time for new tires and suspension. I want to be able to hook when getting out of the hole. Yet i don't want it to ride like a lumber wagon. It's a nice weather driver and it particiates in its fare share of drag races. I really want to get this car to jump out of the hole, what tires and suspension do you think is best, money isn't an option when it comes to my ss, only the best. thanks for the help.

SSMOJO,

grumpy is a road racer, but I am sure he has a trick or two up his sleeve for drag racing. His SS is a 1g lateral machine!

But, if you want to hook, you can try this: get some Eibach drag launch springs, get some HAL shocks for adjustability, put an Air bag in the rear right spring, and a torque arm, Lower Control arms, panhard rod, and some subs. And don't forget the Nitto Drag Radials!

If you go to these other boards, there are also some people there that can help if Grumpy can't.

I concur with brother Doug. Also, weight transfer is crutial to launching. An aftermarket adjustible torque arm to adjust pinion angle, stiff RLCAs all will help. Taking out the front sway bar helps weight transfer, but is a little radical for the street.

Good tires and a 4.10 rear
(mm6) or 3.73 and a high stall converter if A4 is money in the bank.
