Bruins beat the Penguins 3-1. Jagr only had 2 shots on net.

Celtics beat the Cavs in a blowout.

Two Boston teams won as under dogs on the same night. It could be our only highlight this year so I had to mention it.

Tough to be a Boston sports fan this year!!

Lindros wants to play only for the Leafs - that could give them a good shot at it this year!! Go Leafs!!

Hawkeye, you know he won't last. He is nuts for even thinking about playing again!!

Chris, thanks. At least someone has some sympathy for us Boston area fans!!

I do like the Vikings, but I am a home time fan big time and will always root for my local teams.

Dan,

seems like a goodnight in beantown. Being born and raised in NY in a Sicilian household Im naturally a Red Sox hater, but thanks for the Babe and Roger "Batman" Clemens

Clemens is a whiner and a baby from Texas. You can have him, I don't care how good he is.

Dougie, my friend, I live in NH now but grew up in a nice Italian neighborhood just 7 miles from downtown Boston. You mean you didn't get my accent!! Ha ha.

Joe, that Italian neighborhood was really on part Italian, the rest was Sicilian and har core Sox fans. Pappa asked every day, "How'd the sox do today?" He watched all the Bruins games with me. Those were the good old days (68-72) when the Bruins were the team to beat. Only Dryden could stop them!!

So, you can all leave me alone and let me enjoy one night in a pathetic era of boston sports. Sox couldn't do it, Bruins stink, Celtics stink, Patriots I don't even want to talk about!! I guess the soccer team wasn't too bad but I don't follow that sport much. Boo hooo

Dan,

Speaking of the Bruins, thanks for giving us Esposito way back when, almost seems like Boston is NY's farm team although I did find it amusing when O'reilly beat that guy with a shoe!
But at least you had Ted Williams, who my grandfather as a lifelong Yankee fan, said was the greatest pure hitter other than Cobb. Plus it was pretty cool that he knocked one out in his last at bat.
And you had Fenway Park which was a great place.

I'll have to thank you for Espo. I think Hodge and Cashman came with him which was just as important. They got him the puck. But we did give up our best scorer at the time. Most peole thought it was a mistake. Same as when we traded Barry Peterson for Cam Neely!!

The splendid splinter was great but still no Championship since 1918!! Fenway Park is still there for now and Pedro is great to watch. Oh well, I remain a fan!

By the way, we did Espo back eventually! Gotta love those big Italian goal scorers, eh?!

Dont forget Nomar, I love to watch him play Red Sock or not.

And dont feel bad about Dryden, he stopped just about everyone in the 70's. To me the Bruins were always like the Oakland Raiders of the NHL. The Rangers v. Bruins was always good for some excitement.

And I'll chalk one up to you Boston fans, you are loyal.

Back to the Lindros thing, I just can't respect a player who won't play for who he is supposed to play for. Remember back when he was drafted, he wouldn't play for Quebec so he got traded to Philly. Now he's refusing to play for Philly. I hope if he goes to Toronto they give him every little thing that he wants or he won't play, reguardless of a contract.
Somone he has a gift like that and refuses to use it because someone upset him. Pathetic! There are players out there that got treated a lot worse and you never heard anything about it.
Sorry, just had to vent a little.

Shay

I agree with you Shay. I think Lindros is an awesome talent, but I have never been a fan of his since he refused to play for Quebec. Especially for the reasons that he stated. I wonder how he felt when they went to Colorado and won the cup!!
