...anyway, to get back to the subject...a salesman I know that works for a Chevy Dealer up in Cocoa called me yesterday and told me that they had just received 2 ZO6 Vettes in...one M-yellow, one silver. I went up there this morning to check them out...d@mn that yellow is sweet....and that is one very kick@ss machine 4 sure. Well, they had a 10K markup on both...59K for the yellow one. I told them there was no way I would pay the markup, because I had already been talking to a salesman down in Vero Beach and he told me that they would sell me one they had at MSRP. So to make a long story short, I offered them $20K and the Hawk out the door...they countered at $25K out the door...and I told them 20 was my final offer. They told me that they had a Miami dealer that offered them $53K for it, and I told them to go for it. To be honest, if it wasn't that I'm waiting for the '02 with 400hp and a removeable hardtop, I probably would have gone for it. For the time being though...I'll drive the '99 Hawk for another year...put my '91 under the knife and kick her up to 400hp...pay off the Wahine's '01 Eclipse GT, and be ready to wheel and deal for an '02 ZO6 next year this time...
...life is indeed good...indeed...
