... further to your HPP3 and 4.10 gears question ... I have it on good authority that when the programming is installed for 4.56 gears ... the skip shift light kicks on in 2nd gear ... I haven't done any math ... but it would indicate to me that programming is getting the correct vehicle speed, rpm and throttle setting inputs.

To save a question ... the fellow did the 4.56 programming to correct the odometer for the distance the car was driven with 4.10 gears and 3.42 programming.

Confused....

With 4.56 gears and no HPP3 what does the skip shift do?

With 4.46 gears AND HPP3, does it work OK???

The actual gears are 4.10's in all cases.

With no HPP3 (stock programming for 3.42 gears) the skip shift light acts "normal" based on the uncorrected speedometer, oblivious to actual speed.

With HPP3 programming for 4.56 gears the skip shift light comes on in second gear, again oblivious to actual speed. This would indicate to me that the parameters for CAGS activation ... speed, rpm, temperature and %throttle are being met.

My conclusion: The CAGS section of the computer is getting the HPP altered speed input.

I would agree with Art. Although I have eliminated the skip shift, after the 4:10's and the HPP3 the light on the dash still reacts the same as it did prior to the 4:10's. I did not reconnect the skip shift to judge it's operation I just watched the light.
