...and it's leaking from the ?pressure screws?(they keep the carrier from moving around??).

Has anyone had this problem?

The front pinion seal is leaking (I wonder if the T/A cover could be the cause of this?) and the fluid is 'walking' to the rear of the differential. It can't be 'walking' up the cover...so it's coming from the ?pressure screws?

For the cost, aggravation and what a dealer might think of the cover I would say this is THE WORST MOD I've done to the Hawk.

Any thoughts?

Tom

Mine leaked form the same screws.I adjusted
the torque and the leake stopped.
If that doesn't help, try wraping the
the screws with teflon tape.Avaliable at
any hardware store in the plumbing section.

Rich,

With the Alum rear end cover there are 2 bolts/screws in the center that you are suppose to torque to I think 5 ft.-lbs. this I believe keeps the carrier from moving. It's leaking from 2/3 places: the pinion seal (maybe a seperate matter), the screws from the center of the cover and possibly from the cover gasket

It sounds like you might just need to torque the bolts down a little bit. Try checking the torque on them to see where they are at. Pinion seal leaks are common so I don't think the two are related.
