i live in kansas and its cold and snows about every other week. when its nice and the streets are clear of snow and salt i will take my car for a spin. When i go to start it up and it has been sitting for a few days in the cold garage it starts fine but the gauges all go funny. the rpm will go to readline and back with out rappin the enginen up the fuel gauge will dump to E and then will go back to Full. And the trip will reset itself back to zero. It has done this probably 5 times. Normally after i has been sitting for 3 days or more. a couple of times it wasn't even that cold out. thanks for reading hope you have some ideas!!!

I had the same problem with the dash cluster in my 99 SS.There is a service bulletin from GM that will correct this complaint. The bulletin # is 99-08-49-009.When the temperture drops below 32 degrees, this is when the problem happens.Contact your chevy dealer and give him the bulletin # and they will replace the dash cluster. I have the same problem in my 99 SS too. I live in New York and it doesn't really snow that much here but I have noticed that a few times.
