First, the "X-Men" car, now what?

Proceed, gentle reader.

Speedvision, the motorsports cable television network, is producing a
30-minute profile on SLP Engineering, showcasing our history, people and
products as well as the special relationships we share with General Motors
and its Chevrolet and Pontiac-GMC divisions. A major portion of the footage
for the tv program will be captured this Saturday, January 6, in Las Vegas
and in nearby Pharump. Yes, that’s Pharump!

If your interested in attending and checking out what happens behind the
scenes during a videotaping session, please contact Reg Harris at
riot1@aol.com. We’d like to gather as many Camaro SS and Firehawks as
possible to use as backdrops at Rupert Bragg-Smith’s Advanced Driving School
and at the Race Rock, an incredible motorsports-themed restaurant located in
downtown Las Vegas. Greg Heinrich, the president of Fairway Chevrolet, one
of the very best Camaro SS dealerships in the country, has also graciously
agreed to also appear in the video.

The taping at the Advanced Driving School is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. on Saturday, January 6. The School is located at 3601 South Highway 160
(Blue Diamond) in Pahrump, Nevada, about one hour from Las Vegas. Their
telephone number is 775-727-6363. For more detailed directions and
additional information, please refer to their website at www.bragg-smith.com.

The Race Rock taping session takes place later that day from 4:00 p.m. until
7:30 p.m. It’s located at 495 Fremont Street. Their number is
702-382-7223. The contact there is Gina Davis. For more detailed directions
and additional information, refer to their website at www.racerock.com.

In addition to seeing Firehawks and SS zip around the road course in Pharump,
you’ll have a chance to meet some of the key folks behind the scenes like
Scott Settlemire, assistant brand manager for Camaro; Rupert Bragg-Smith,
owner of the driving school; and myself. And if you’ll allow your car to
appear in the video, dinner, excluding alcoholic beverages, will be provided
by SLP Saturday at the Race Rock. Also, if you can make it to Rupert’s
Driving School, we’ll provide lunch.

Sorry for the late notice. If interested, I need confirmation of your
attendance by 6:00p.m, PST, Friday, January 5.

Hope to see you there!

That's awesome. I had heard about this. I attended the Bragg-Smith school in Nov with my other SSOA friends. Ruppert is a great guy, his staff is great and Scott and SLP friends showed up as well. It was fantastic.

I only wish I could be there. Someone ask Rupert about the pedal templates for the gas pedal so we can heel/toe!

By the way.... it's Pahrump. Check out the Winery if you are there. It is truly an oasis in the desert!
