...hahahahaha...used to live in San Diego in the late 60s and was stationed at North Island. There was no bridge to Coronado back then...we had to ride one of the ferries to get there. I remember the locals giving the bridge that nickname after it was constructed because of the bend in the middle of it...
...don't know if that had any significance, and really didn't care...
