From Tom Byrne - Details that I have for them is -

These pedals start as 3/4" thick material, then machined in such a way that they will never slip once installed. The brake and clutch pedals completely replace the rubber pads that came with the car. These pedals are contoured on the top surface to give you a natural feel while applying the brake or clutch. In other words, they are not just flat faced pedals, they will have the same feel as the stock pedals. The accelerator pedals do mount over your existing pedal (drilling required) but aid in the "heel - toe operation that you road racers have asked for by bringing the pedal surface up higher .

M6 Cars - Set Includes....
Gas, Brake, Clutch &
Deadman's pedal.
Gas pedal is fuller and approx 1/2" taller off stock pedal

A4 Cars - substitute larger braked pedal from M6 brake
and clutch pedals

They can be seen here http://www.mbaproducts.com/ and if we get at
least 5 orders they are as follows:

List price for M6 - $124.99 group = $104.99
List price for A4 - $114.99 group = $ 94.99

Please mention the group purchase when ordering from Tom Byrne.

Brian, I changed the URL to a link, Art.

I have these on my Hawk, and the quality is excellent, the fit is first class and they really look great. One change I made was to buy shorter set screws so they're completely recessed into the pedals when tightened down...you're very hard pressed to see how they're attached unless you stick a mirror under the pedal.

...the hardest part of the installation was getting the gas pedal off...

Thanks JimB0!! Good to hear.

I have not asked Tom, I'm sure he'll let it go at least 10 days. We only need 5, we have 2 already.

For those who were at Bragg-Smith, the only mod to the SS's there was a gas pedal of aluminum that was a little oversized to assist in the heel and toe shifting. It really helps.

We came home and drove our cars, it was a big difference.

Brian ... I was gonna pass on this one ... but hey ... why re-invent the wheel? Are you picking yours up south of the border? Maybe I can get you to pick mine up too

Send 'em cheapest way possible ... I'm not crawling around down there before it gets a whole bunch warmer.

Install list is getting longer:
bilstein suspension
CAI
Shift Lift
Pedals
& I'm really fighting the urge to get a custom stainless steel exhaust made up to replace the regular steel stuff on for "testing" purposes.

My order is in. Come on the rest of you road racers, get your pedals!!

Did anyone post this on the SLP board?

Does anybody that already has these pedals know if they are slippery when wet? I am very interested in getting them (and probably will regardless), but being from Seattle, wet traction is kind of important.

Thanks for any answers!

The only problem is we can't ask you how they are to heel/toe with in a road race. Your right, though, they look good!! Another SS option for you Comp.

Thanks Tom, that's great. When will they ship? No hurry, just wondering.
Nice article in GM Hi Perfomance )I think that is where I saw it) on the story about your car fire then your building the 98. Isn't the 98 the car you put the supercharger in? They need to be updated!! Ha ha.

Posted by tbyrne (Member # 424) on :

That is the recent Super Chevy. I picked up a copy last weekend and noticed that they were a little behind. That info is from the summer of '98. I'm planning on heading to the track this weekend to take the first runs with the A4 trans. I'm shooting for high 10s once everything is dialed in.

We'll probably order a batch of pedals now and another one at the end of the GP. They should start shipping by the end of next week.

Thanks,
Tom

By the Way - The March issue of GM High Tech
Magazine has an article on the actual pedals in the GP with detailed instructions and photos.

Very timely.

Thanks Tom

Mine are here too. Too bad I am too sick to even work on it. Paul, bring her up, I'll crank up the garage heater! Man, do I feel like crap! Nothing like a cold with bruised ribs to wear you out!!

Hey Hawkeye, anything special in the mag article? The directions that came with them seemed pretty easy.

Posted by SShane (Member # 582) on :

Man, you guys are lucky to have yours already! It's going to be a few more days for those of us on the left coast. Just checked UPS and mine just arrived this morning in Cache, IL. They haven't even made it half way yet.

Oh well, the car is in the garage for a while anyway. I guess I'm just a little jealous!

Seems very easy. One warning, be careful marking the gas pedal on where to drill. They did not "drill" through the template, they just used it to mark the spots. Other than that they said very easy professional looking install that eases "heel and toeing".

By the way - you sitting any closer to the wheel after the course? I certainly am!!

Posted by Happy_Dan (Member # 118) on :

Sounds good. Thanks for the warning on the gas pedal. Measure twice, drill once, eh??

I don't sit any closer to the wheel, but that is because I already sat close to it. Being a NASCAR fan, those 500 mile races demand a lot of leaverage and use of the whole arms. I do pay attention to pushing into turns and "feel" my shoulder pressing into the seat. It really helps keep you in place.

Posted by Happy_Dan (Member # 118) on :

Mine are on. It was easy. The hardest part is getting the gas pedal back on.

Thanks Tom, now if you could just get us some reasonable weather, I could drive it.
