I'm looking at a used 2000 SS with 11,500 miles on it. The car looks clean and seems to run well and it is loaded with almost every option. The quote I got was 22,500. Looking at edmunds, kelly blue book, etc. It seems like a great deal. I spoke to another dealer whom I deal with regularly and he said "it's not a bad deal, you're not paying top dollar, and he's not making a mint (the other dealer)". Is he just trying to get me to buy from him, or isn't this such a great deal? Any opinions would be appreciated!

It all depends what options the car has. If it's a fully loaded SLP optioned car, then yes, it's a great price. If it's just a base SS, then it's high.

i think its a damn good price, but i live in so.calif. where you pay sticker price or more, i have a 2000 convertable (for sale also) the sticker price was 36,004.00 plus they had a add up-of 495.00 so the total was 36499.00 this car only has 2,600 miles on it id like to get 28,000.00 for it, but everyone acts like im nuts when i tell em how much i want for it., i guess thats why they arent going to make these cars anymore , there just isnt a market for them , i sold a 97-z28 a year ago and all i could get for it was 11k the dealers seem to be the only ones that can sell these cars..

Hi there!
Welcome to the club...I'm a relatively new member as well, having just joined. I bought a 2000 SS in November and I would agree with the previous post that your quote is great for a fully loaded SLP car...but for just the GM SS...you can do better.
Have you tried autotrader.com?

I checked out autotrader.com and they were all in the 24,000 range. I have yet to find anything cheaper than the 22,500 I'm looking at. It's loaded from the factory, but I'm not sure on the SLP options except for the cosmetic ones (which I dont care about, and there are none). I posted the SLP forum with the VIN to see what's there.

Any other opinions?

Thanks.

The price sounds good but unless you detail the options there is not much more we can add. If you like the car, and you think it's worth 22,500 then get it, never buy a car because the price right, first and formost you must really like it, otherwise keep looking.
