I like some of the stuff they've done for the f-body hideout. It would also be a good place to collect the various write ups that folks have done on mods.

I like the format we have. I would like to see a couple more sections added. One could be called the catalog room, where aftermarket suppliers could have on line catalogs posted for the members. This would be a seperate section instead of a bunch of pop ups. Only the members intrested in shopping would have to look at them.

A second section dealing with reviews of equipment, and or links to reviews on other sites.

I must admit I don't visit the site much. Since it's inception, other than than the monthly hall of fame and memebers list, there hasn't been much updating of the site. I just went there to look to see what's new and it looked the same. Many of the links don't have content still such as aftermarket, free mods, and maintenance. Even your review article about shifters from last year still says "more info on this shifter coming soon". I guess what i'm trying to say is that it needs content and regular updates. Graphically the site does look fine though.

As a member I couldn't tell you whose in charger of the site. I'm not aware of any process for submitting data other than for the hall of fame. Maybe isntead of feeling the burdon of having to keep our site updated with tips and write ups we could start a links page and give props to those that have. I don't don't have much technical car experience but I have amassed quite a few links in my favorites that i'd be willing to share and I'm sure other would too. SSOA could have someone members could email links to for review and have them update the SSOA site.

Hope that's constructive criticism
Bill

I agree 100% with Bill - I stopped visiting the site not long after its inception because it just was not being updated. It looks nice, but there isn't much content to it. Load some info on there and then we will criticize it!!!

i agree with wreckman , i think the idea of online catalogs for us to shop at all organized for everyone would be great. maybe setup a chat room for us, with someone from SLP so we can ask them about any problems or modifications we want to do to our rides . that way any probems would be answerd right away. . jim

The above comments say it all. If all the areas of the site would be updated with information it would be a place to go.

I rarely use the site either as most of the info is not updated. I'd be nice to have a faq like the one that used to be at fbody.org, it was very detailed in the differences between each year of 4th gen Camaros. Also, links to stores that sell items for our cars would be nice.

TTT

Well Lou anything going to change with our input? have the admins had a chance to discuss SSOA's long term plan for the site?

We're working on something for everyone, but we need specific information on what they'd like to see.
How could it be arranged to better suit the member's needs?
What kind of information is everyone wanting access to?
What is most important to the members?
Links? Info? Members in their area? Local clubs? Events?

On another note, the discussion on the board is I think much better than a chat room. Comments seem to be well thought out most of the time. If someone is looking for help with a particular problem or a question regarding something it is usually answered by several people. Not everyone is in agreement but this often lets us see view points that we may have over looked. I have had a few questions regarding different things in the past and have been quite pleased with the responses from the board.

I think the updates on various things need to come from the posters as that is what really makes the board. Although I have only been here a short time I have been made to feel welcome and befriended by the other members of the board.

I agree with the other comments here. I like the format, but never visit the site because the site never seemed to get completed.

The website is what we're trying to complete.
We're not asking about the message forum. The forum will stay the way it is.

We want to know what the members want to see on http://www.SSOA.net

Links to other F-body sites? and Parts / accesories suppliers?

Info?
A "FAQ" and/or "how to" section for our cars

Members in their area?
Local clubs?
Directories are a great idea. Member info should probably be for members only

Events?
Another great idea, but tough to keep current

Managing / building this website could easily turn into a full time job. If you need volunteers I'd be glad to donate a couple hours a week, if I can do from the "right hand" coast.

I didn't have anything in particular in mind. I'm not very creative in the artistic sense as far as making web pages and stuff like that. However I frequently run into a bit of "dead time" here on third shift, and aimless websurfing can get pretty boring. I thought maybe I could help by hunting stuff down for you or something like that. Let me know.

Welllll.....the FAQ can always use more information in it.
CraigLeres@ssoa.net is the keeper of the FAQ. I'm sure he'd welcome some help with it.

i think the web page is fine and not as clut-
tered up as some others. occassional jokes and non ss related topics are good but if too
many (do not know at what %) i would open a
separate site. keep up the great work.

Here is my 2 cents. I see some F-Body owners come on the board and ask questions about modifying their rides, only to be made fun of because they really don't know the answer and look what happens, they become punching bags for the old timers that know everything. Some of us have not been under the hood as much as others and really don't know and in some cases scared to death to touch anything we are not familiar with. So, I would like to see a place that new comers could ask real questions and get some real answers.

Randy....Thanks for the feedback.
Newcomers (and old ones) are always encouraged to ask questions. I can't recall anyone being made fun of for asking a question and wanting to learn about their car, but if that happens, we'll keep an eye out for it.
Maybe we can look into creating a newbie section and have a few "seasoned" members help out there.

Cody: Good idea on the pics. I've tried to get members URL's into the database. Maybe we can draw from that and create a member photo album. (Would you want to help out on that?)

Keep the ideas coming! We're logging all the responses.

I would love to help out on that!! I think a photo section would draw a lot of interest from fellow SS owners. Having pics of our cars and our fellow SS owners cars here would keep people interested and could be used as an easy reference when something comes up about a car part/mod. If you would like to, send me an email so we may converse and get the ball rolling on this.
