Yesterday I removed the wheels from my 2001 SS, I have had the vehicle about 10 days. It was manufactured in October. When cleaning the wheels I noticed that the inside of the rim had the chrome peeling off. It was also quite pitted in different places. One of the wheels was heavily stained.
Has anyone else had problems with their chrome wheels? What type of adjustment should I seek and who should I attempt to contact with regard to the problem?

Remember if they are the 10 spoke SLP rims they come with the 3/36 warranty. i got mine from an exchange service and they only have a one year, and within 3 days one of them started to peel.. BAD part was i had to pay for shipping on the return of the bad rim!

I am actually very disappointed with my chrome SLP wheels as well. there are pits in all of them, and I want all of them replaced. I have seen other SLP wheels and they aren't like this. I just haven't had to go to the dealer for anything (knock on wood) so I haven't had them replaced. I just hope the dealer won't give me a hard time when I finally get in there.

Have your dealer contact SLP. They are warranted for 36/36. (The wheels are warranted-not the dealer!)

Thanks for the response to my questions. When I talk to my dealer I will also have this discussion print out in my hand. It should eliminate any of the you must have done something wrong business.
I suspect either a bad job from the chrome shop or some vary harsh chemical cleaner was used and not rinsed off properly while the car was in the care of the dealer.

I have the 5 spoke wheels. The chrome looks very good to me. I'm due for a tire rotation so I'll check out the inside of the wheels while they are off the car.

My chrome Firehawk wheels are perfect. 2000 'Hawk #147, built Oct 99, 14,200 miles. Inspect my wheels monthly when I change over to my autocross spares. I wash them, including insides with Zaino car wash, and use Z2 wax monthly on the chrome outsides. They're perfect. Mark
