On to the Camaros. A used red SS, t-tops, auto, leather, NO SLP options, priced at 27,000. It was a 2000.
They had 3 2001 models as well, red, pewter, and black. All were optioned the same - all GM, no SLP. Priced at 31,600. The black car had aftermarket wheels and tires and was marked up an extra 2800 for them. The sad thing was that it was obviously used - the brakes looked worse than mine do with 7800 miles on them. There was wax build up around the SS emblems - yet it was being passed off as a new car. I had to double check to make sure it was an 01 - I couldn't believe it. Plus the other two had bad swirl marks in the paint and the pewter car had a deep scratch above the passenger door handle!
To top it all off, I saw they had a 2001 Z28 on the lot. It had SS wheels on it though - the stock 10 spokes and F1's. They had marked that one up 2800 too.
Tahoes were 41,000 +.
I paid 31,500 and change for my car (not including tax, lic, etc) and it is pretty much fully optioned. Is it me or are these cars a little expensive??? Maybe a bad dealer?? I'm glad I didn't buy from them...

I'm in the midst of dealing with the end of lease on our full load Jimmy SLT ... all in Canadian dollars ... the buyout in the lease is $26,500 ... wholesale blue book is around 22K. I contacted GMAC to see if they would deal. They will ... but only through the dealer that did the original lease. The dealer quoted me 25K I offered 22,500 they came back at 24K. Bottom line ... the dealer wants to maximize his cut and will let me walk rather than seeing me get a perceived "deal". I'm turning it back to GMAC on Saturday.
Want a bargain? You'd have to drive a Sunfire or Cavalier

...the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT is still a bang for the buck bargain...the one I bought for the Wahine is completely loaded...205 hp V6, Sportronic manually shifting auto, all power, security system, leather, ABS, 4-wheel discs, 17" wheels, premium 8-speaker sound with CD changer, sunroof...all for a shade over $21K. On top of that, $0 down...no payments for 6 months, no interest accrual and no prepayment penalties.
...on a good year I probably could have made enough money in those 6 months on the stock market to pay it off cash...
...this year, however, looks like another one that's gonna be in the toilet...
...looks like the boom times are over with for awhile...
...maybe next year will be better...
...one can always hope...
Now, looking for the Z06, I had a hard time finding one, never mind talking about price.
