Just purchased my GM electric antenna for the 2000SS. Thanks to my good buddy over in Birmingham, Ala. that sent me all the necessary instructions to install it even with a cut-off switch while using the CD. And the price was about 40 bucks cheaper than the dealership that I have kept in business for the past seven years. $40. May I ask where? GM Parts Direct has them for $63 and that is as cheap as I have seen them.
TIA.

my electric antenna is almost here, should install it this weekend - the only problem I have is that I have to drill a hole in the trunk for the drain tube...at least that is what I heard. Any advice? Any particular place to drill? Where do the Pontiacs have theirs? Is there an existing hole in the quarter panel or what?

I think Steve drilled a hole. There's an indentation where it goes.
You could always take a quick trip down to the Pontiac dealer and check out a Firebird, T/A or Formula. If you can't see it from underneath, see if you can remove the spare tire and check out its installation. The spare is a son of a gun to remove and replace in the convertible. That was the hardest part of the installation!

If you want a used one from the Firebird, call Billy Gramham's Camaro/Firebird Salvage in Calera, Al. (205) 668-1169. Tell him that Randy told you to call him, great guy to deal with, he also has a web site, www.scott.net/~bgraham KICKBACK SLP#4340 2000 SS

MikeSS, ... if your service advisor is a real friend, he can hook you up with someone who can do the install deal for $60 bucks parst and labor. Mine did.

I put the antenna in this weekend. Pretty simple actually, thanks to the instructions that were posted here. It works great and is something that all these cars should have come with! I think the hardest part was tapping the amp lines for power and ground...I was having a hard time so I finally just climbed in the trunk, squeezing all 200+ pounds in there to finish the job.
I'm real happy with it. A very good mod IMO. And now the cover will fit without any problems! Now if we can get the dang rain to stop!! There has been 5-9 inches of rain since yesterday.....
