How many of us have purchased the Ship Shift Pigtail? Well, found out yesterday we did not need ot speed that 30 bucks. The skip shift is temperature controlled and all you have to do is readjust the engine temperature setting from the stock 100 degrees to say 250 degrees. Even with the pigtail, the lite still comes on, but nothing happens. This way it will never come in at lower speeds or engine temperature. This is all I know, just had it done and now the pigtail is out and the lite does not come on at all. Just installed my white hurst shift knob, great.

Just use a 2.2K 1/4-1/2 watt resistor. The light still comes on, but I use it as a signal for me to do a manual skip-shift if so desired. Pretty much I don't see it if I'm not looking for it anyway. Worked for me and it cost under a buck. See LS1.com for details.
About messing with the temp setting? Could be a bad idea. Are you for sure that temp signal isn't being used by another engine management function?
