Lately my car won't stop smoothly. I put the car in neutral and apply even pressure to the brakes and the car kind of stutters to a stop. Does anyone else have this problem?

Warped rotors. The dealer will turn them for you under warranty.

...and after another 12K - 15K when they warp again, have them replaced.

My dealer replaced my front rotors on my '99 A4 Z28 at about 17k miles. The runout was pretty high but there was enough meat on them to turn 'em once. However the service writer, who owns a viciously quick totally sleeper looking '99 M6 1lE Z28 said frig it and just swapped them out. There is a GM service bulletin out on the rotors. A lot of it has to do with the dealers "educating" the customer about the causes of warped rotors, and cautioning service depts. to ensure that they not over-torque the lug bolts, as over-tightening can result in warped rotors. I am pretty anal about not letting my wheels get touched with an air wrench. Aside from the wide variation in torque you can get from lug to lug, they can also damage the wheels pretty easily, especially if you have aftermarket alloy wheels. I request and remind at every service visit that will require the wheels to come off that they please make sure to remove and replace the lug nuts with a torque wrench. I'm lucky, my current dealer is pretty cool about it, but I have been to others that I've had to watch like a hawk.
