you betcha. I wanna have a better time at these events, without having to worry about certain things. The engine oil cooler will help in keeping the temps down, in addition to increasing oil capacity. The tranny cooler and power steering cooler the same thing.
But I wanted to focus on bettering the brakes, and not have to drive to work the next Monday on warped rotors. I've already got the GMPP front rotors. They've been on since about 18K, I'm at 37K now. I'll replace all the rubber seals and boots on the front calipers, replace the rubber hoses all the way around with stainless and put in new pads for the season. Maybe the Hawk Black pads.
I just wanna be ready. I'm currently running a 'Velocity Ported' MAF end, so we'll see how that works, too.

Mike has an autotransmission and has to go this route for the oil cooler.
For MM6 trans, you can buy the whole package from Tom Oates Chevy. Tom is the current SCCA T2 Road Race Champion using his 99 Camaro.
The oil cooler system by Tom Oates (which I have installed in my car) uses all GM parts.
It consists of a side tank from an auto transmission type radiator, an S10 oil cooler and lines, a Silverado oil cooler adapter for the block and lines. An associated hardware. It looks stock and works great. And if anything breaks, just stop at your local chevy dealer for repair.

Jim - I'm adding one. It'll fit behind the radiator on the back of the fans.
If you take the P/S cooler out altogether and only use a cooling coil type, it'll overheat when your sitting still due to no air flow. Atleast with the factory cooler there is some heat disipation. I just want to add more fluid capacity and a lil more cooling capacity.
Teri - the setup he referes to from Tom Oates is all SCCA approved and (almost) all GM parts. The block adapter is where I'm starting from.

What will overheat??? Water or PS fluid? The stock Z28 has no power steering cooler at all.

The 'overheat' quote was from two different GM people. I know the Z doesn't have one, and I was going to eliminate the upper hose cooler.
