Good Morning!!

Interesting move afoot here in Winnipeg. A group is hard at work trying to get the city on board to set up a venue for "organized street racing" to get it off the streets. I'll put on the chrome wheels and be there for a media event Saturday afternoon

Anyone have anything like this in there area??

Mornin', all! Art, that's a great idea if your city is having a problem with illegal street racing. However, I'm sure that the city is going to have to look into what their liability would be.

We had some difficulies years back, and it was decided to open up Windsor Dragway for the races. The dragway had gone out of business and it opened to the public to use at their own peril. There were races every night and day, no eletronic timing, just me against you.

I was there on a Saturday afternoon when during a burnout a Corvette went out of control and pinned a girl between the front end and a guard rail. It was messy, I think she lost a leg.

After that incident, the track was locked, and sold and is now a housing development.

No track officials and no safety measures = disaster.

Good luck with your arrangements.
