I plan on getting my SS out of storage here pretty soon and I have a question. My car as a little less then 7000 miles on it. At 3500 I put synthetic oil in it. It's been in storage since October, has not been touched since I put it there. Should I change the oil when I get it out? I'm planning on doing the rear end fill, just wanted to know if it would be a good idea to do the motor oil too.

Thanks,
-D

I change my oil after winter hibernation regardless if it needs it or not. It gets all the "gunk" that has settled. Don't forget to warm up the oil before you change..

Not necessary - but - it wouldn't hurt.

Like Curtis said.

I understand that acids build up over time irrespective of miles and also any rust that has developed will get into the oil while you first warm it up, so while it's a bit expensive, I would definitely do it.

Thanks everyone! Looks like I'll add the oil change to the "to do" list.

acids do build up over long times lik ethta also DO NOT Warm up your car change your oil befor you even start it for the first time ... think about it anything that has settled to the bottom of the pan will get kicked back up to the top of the motor if you start it with out changeing it first that is why It would be better to change the oil before you even go to start it up..

In the future, I would change the oil before storing the car. Otherwise, that oil containing acid sits there during storage.
