Ok gang here's the deal:

I am now ready to do the orders for the SS center cap decals. These were specifically designed for the 10 spoke painted or chrome but if you want one for another type of wheel, I will just need the measurement of the center disc.

The deal I have been able to work is as follows - it will be $18.00 (plus postage) for the set of 4, ($20.00 for 5) and if you want additional sets of the same design they will be $15.00 (17.00 for 5).

We can do almost any color within reason either solid or just the outline, for example:
SS lettering

Red - solid or outline
Black - solid or outline
Black with red outline
Blue - solid or outline
etc.

Background discs
Silver
Chrome
White
etc.

Send me an email with your mailing address, and the the colors of the lettering and the discs you want and number of sets of either 4 or 5. I'll send you the address of where to send the $.

I expect to turn all orders around in 24hrs and send via first class priority mail.

Keep in mind that this is the first time I am doing this and that I am doing this purely as a service to my freinds on the boards here. I know how much I have wanted the SS center caps and I appreciate the favors guys like Scott, Jim and others have done with stickers and posters, etc. so please be patient with me and remember that I am not doing this for a profit.

I currently have about 10 orders to be processed, I'll post the list this afternoon.

The point here is - I only plan to do this once, like I said - I am doing this because I enjoy the car, the comradry with the gang on these boards, and because I appreciate the favors others have done here. There's no profit in it for me (other than spiritual) and it is a bit time consuming. So if you think you want the SS for your wheels, try to act soon.

Final tally is 27 orders for a total of 33 sets of decals. I'll be sending the orders in in groups of 5 or so (or more if they arrive sooner), then as soon as I get the decals I'll send them out asap to all of you who ordered.

Folks..PLEASE include the copy of the mail or at least print your email and screen name on the paper you send with your payment, otherwise I have to search through all of the mails to find your name in the address area so I can match up checks to orders!

Oh dammit! I was so wrapped up in the packets that I forgot to order the centercaps!
I hope I'm not too late.
We just got the SS out yesterday and moved it to a storage locker so we can demolish the garage tomorrow.
I measured the centercaps (3") and I can send a check today.......

I'm flying to Europe on business Monday morning so any payments that come in this week will be delayed, sorry gang. In the mean time I have spoken to the manufacturer and he is starting on the 7 orders he has so we should see results soon.

Don't forget to sign the licensing agreement with GM for the use of the SS and bowtie or else they'll claim you owe them lots of money!!

Yikes......well first, I'm not doing any bowties (yet), second, I'm not sure GM can claim ownership of two Ss next to each other can they? Third, Im not actually making or selling anything, I'm just helping with orders and mailing and finally, now you tell me!

Just spoke to the manufacturer, the first seven orders are on their way back to me, then I will get them off to you ASAP. Should be in your hands by end of the week I hope. Sorry it has taken this long.

The next group of eight should be coming in the next day or so also.

I emailed everyone to whom I sent a confirm but haven't received payment. I want to get all the orders done this week.

All who have ordered and not received decals:

Got good news from the manufacturer, they are shipping all outstanding orders to me now. I should have them by Tuesday and will begin getting them out immediately. Putting them together and getting them shipped is time consuming so it will take a couple of days to get them done but I hope to have all of the orders to you by the end of next week

We got ours, but the S's aren't the same as the ones on the wheels. They're not the same shape.

We're still debating on putting them on.......

You mean the Ss on the center caps are different from the Ss on the car?

I'll post a pic of the centercaps compared to the decals once I get one, but the SS's on the car and centercaps have more of a squished appearance than the ones on the decals.

Yes, the SS logo is a little flatter and the lower part of the S is larger than the top, but I think they have trouble getting the machines to cut decals that way. Besides, you wouldn't want your SSs to be directional so they'd be upside down half the time would you?

Actually the S's on the wheels are upside down half of the time. We have an SS in our local club that the S's on the car were put on to match the wheel. Unfortunately at that time the S's on the wheel were upside down. So now all of the badges on the car are upside down!

I say go for it, I think they will cover fine and you'll like the results.

As far as the GP is concerned you are sooooo right. The guy who makes them - you know who - wanted me to do all the collecting, shipping etc. between getting numbers, sizes, etc. correct, trips to the p.o. and bank, it has been a huge amount of work.

Folks: Here is the updated (and final) list. All but three orders are complete, and they should be done this week. I have a few orders in stock for which I did not receive payment, and since I laid out the money for them, they will go to someone else. I am officially closing down this effort and will turn it over to the real manufacturer in the near future (those who have received the decals know who that is).

To everyone who got the decals, I hope you're happy with them, as I said at the outset, there was nothing in this for me except the joy of helping my SS bretheran, and for any you who have done this kind of thing, you know it's a lot of work. Each set came with detailed instructions which took quite a bit of time for me to put together, required several emails to get orders in and confirmed, and then each shipment had to be inventoried and matched against orders, envelopes filled out and assembled, etc.. Geez, you want some cheese with that whine Rich!!

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed doing it for you and hope you're all as happy as I am with mine, and thanks everyone for your patience!
