hi guys, just wondering whats the best way to do a burn out w/o destroying my clutch in the process. For some reason I cant get my tires to spin.

First things first, are you sure you're turning off the ASR first? I can't speak for anyone else, but I regularly forget to turn it off when I try to do a burnout. Naturally, that doesn't help. If it's off, all you should have to do is get a good amount of revs going, say at least 3000 and pop the clutch. How many revs you'll need will depend on the track, weather, etc. Some places are more slippery than others...

Thanks for the response, Yes the asr is off, I finally got them to spin today, I guess I wasnt letting the clutch out fast enough thanks

For me, the best and most fun way is to pretend to ignore the guy in the Mustang next to you who is revving the crap out of his engine at the stop light. Blip the throttle a few times like you're going to go for it, but keep your eye on the officer a couple of cars behind who is watching. When the light turns yellow, look over disdainfully. The Mustang will be so PO'd by your attitude that he won't realize what's behind him and when the light turns green, leave gently and let him boil his tires. Then smile as you drive by him and officer having a pleasant curbside chat. He'll be pointing futilely at your car trying to rationalize why he shouldn't get the ticket.
Just kidding about the above, although that did happen to me once. These cars have enough low-end grunt to be able to light 'em by launching at not too much more than a fast idle. Don't do the 5k rev and clutch dump as you're likely as not to fry your clutch.

Oh! ya say ya cant figure out how to spin the rear wheels?? Well, pull up a chair son! All ya gotta do is turn that pesky ASR thinga ma bob off, crank the old 5.7 to right around 5 grand or so, slip the left foot off the cutch pedal and on to the floor board. then lean the throttle to around 7 grand and hold on! you may need to do some corrective steering to keep it in a straight line, then as the view ahead becomes less blurry, breath and remember to shift into second which should provide a healthy bark from the 275/40 series. Again focusing on whats in front of the hood scoop. Be aware, you will be traveling at well above the posted speed limit,soo be sure theres plenty of open road in front of you! and remember,keep breathing and practice makes perfect. You should get it right just in time to find out the tires are almost as much to replace as the clutch. Good luck
