Hey Dave, I've discovered an interesting bit of info about the '99 SS production totals.
Here I've been bragging about having one of two Hugger orange SS's with NO t-tops, six speed and chrome wheels.
Turns out there are at least three fully documented Huggers factory equipped this way!
The three I speak of are all SSOA member cars. My car: #3161 Randy's #466 Rob's #2123
Any ideas about the miscount? I was wondering if there may be a few more around as three seems like quite a low number for this combination.
Perhaps I'm just splitting hairs here, but I'd like to know if any more info is available. I'm tickled just owning one of 375 Huggers!
If you would like, I will e-mail our VIN's.

Bob, I'm in a similar situation. According to SLP's production figures there were 0 2000 SS's in pewter with hard tops and six speeds built with the dash plaque and key fobs. You could say my car is more rare than yours because NONE exist! However, SSOA documented the equipment list and the plaque is listed on the build sheet. I've asked about this a number of times but only Teri responded. Posted by Randy99SS466 (Member # 144) on :
Call me one (1) of three (3)........

Is this a "taboo" subject or does Dave not moderate here anymore?
Perhaps a little guidance as to who to ask?

Maybe try the SLP message board? I see him post there all the time. Maybe he just doesn't have time to check here.
Good luck. Nice cars!

Sorry folks - I've been working on our new Ford site and haven't been able to wander to too many sites lately.
I'll take a look at the numbers and get back to you by the 15th of Aug when I get back from Norwalk.

Thanks Dave!
Looking back over the numbers, I see 21% of all SS's had chrome wheels. Hmmm, at that rate there may well be a few more out there.

Will be interesting what Dave comes back with. I suspect the published numbers are close with respect to the number of SS hardtops with Hugger Orange. Add the MN-6 and the fairly high cost of the 5-spoke chrome wheels and dual/dual exhaust. This is definitely a rare combination of options, likely to be found only on special order vehicles. Can't imagine a dealer coming up this configuration for a inventory stock vehicle. That's what makes this combination so rare and unique.
