Good afternoon, fellow Camaro enthusiasts.....Looking for a few good Camaros on the West Coast
San Bernardino will once again hold their annual Route 66 Rendezvous this

aren't they all....just ask any Mustang........) here is Traci Pimpare's email
address....she's our contact at GM RWorks and she will be coordinating the
show.......Dates: Need the Camaros on Thursday morning, Sept. 13...with moveout on Sunday,
Sept 16 after 4:00pmTraci can be reached at tpimpare@gmrworks.com

Hey, thanks for the notice! I just got back from out of the country (I was in India doing volunteer work for 2 months....missing my SS like crazy!). I live in Riverside, about 10 minutes away from San Bernardino and would be happy to oblige with my 2000 SS. I'm emailing Traci right now, but do you have any other info on it? The only 2 mods I have are an SLP STB and Reflective Concept Camaro stickers...Thanks for the info!

Welcome back....yours sounds perfect, keep us posted!
"...the show is open to vehicles 1900-1972 and any year Corvette, Prowler, and Viper."
So us new Camaros are crap but if you have a performance car like a Prowler they are happy to have you.. or you could say new musclecars dont count unless you spend $50k on one.. And to think this is a GM sponsored event.. no wonder nobody wants to buy fbodies! to GM if you dont have a vette you dont rate..
ok.. rant mode off...
However, I emailed Traci and haven't got a response.......I wonder if somebody else (may be Scott or Possum) could try to contact them and see what's up?
Thanks,
NiravSS
First off, the organization that does the Route 66 Rendezvous is not General Motors...rather, it is (I believe) the Chamber of Commerce. They have established rules as to what cars can cruise and what cars cannot....while I am not a subject expert, I have attended this event several times in the past couple of years, and I believe (not gospel) that they limit the age of the cars due to the fact that if they didn't it would be chaos...it is a well-planned route, but it is through the downtown streets, and if they didn't limit what cars could cruise by age....well, you can imagine...(I mean, should people be cruising in a new minivan or sport ute at a classic car show?) The Camaro was inducted into the Route 66 Hall of Fame in 1997 when it turned 30.....Corvette was inducted a year or two before...as was Chevy before that. Since that time, GTO and other classic cars have been inducted. Now..as to the "only if you are driving a Corvette or a Prowler or Viper....I don't know why they made that statement. And I can't decipher what they may be thinking...
What I CAN tell you is that Chevy always has a sizable display at the event...and this year, Camaro is the featured car in the Chevy display....and we are trying to get several Camaros that represent the Camaro over the past 35 years...and thus, I put out the request looking for some great looking Camaros. Traci will make sure that the cars we select are brought in by their owners...
We'll also check into the statement that you got from the organizers.....to see what we can do....
Sorry that I perhaps mislead you,....I certainly didn't mean to, and trust me, in my book, all Camaro owners are equal to Corvette owners.
I didnt think you misled me.. And im used to car shows that limit the age of cars to keep out the rice, etc.. but i do get tired of being a "second class" car. Why if they can allow new vetts, vipers and prowlers (ugh!) cant they invite specific models of Camaro? (such as SS & Z28).. Whenever I visit a show with my SS i get many people interested in looking at it.. mostly because you dont see them often while you cant throw a rock without hitting a vette (no offense to vettes ~ If you would like a copy of the email from them stating that these certain new cars are allowed let me know and I would be happy to send you a copy..
And again im sure we all appreciate the fact that you actually care about our cars

I haven't heard anything either....I sent her two emails, thinking one might not have gotten to her over the labor day weekend, but I haven't heard anything. I thought about mail bombing her account but decided against it. Funny thing though, they don't have any info on the event at the GM RWorks site either. But ya, SSTeve, if you hear from her, please forward my email address to her too.....worse come worse, I'll go and seen the other fine cars there!NiravSS

It would appear she's dropped off the face of the earth ..... she said she'd get back with me by Wednesday and nada!
Perhaps the Fbodfather (Don Vito Settlemire) can shed some light on this conundrum.
Hey Art, can you find out for us????
