Bill Johnson) provided emergency taxi service for stranded commuters who had
fled New York City via ferry in an effort to return to their homes in New Jersey
and beyond. Representatives from the dealership drove people to their homes,
some traveling as far as Pennsylvania. Most recently, 32 tri-state area dealers
(New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) have agreed to have their dealerships
serve as Red Cross collection points. GM/Red Cross collection boxes are being
placed in these dealerships.
CHEVY INVOLVED IN RING OF HONOR, PATRIOTIC DISPLAY AT COWBOYS GAME . . . As the
Dallas Cowboys returned to competition on Sunday at Texas Stadium, Chevrolet
played a key role in the noon kickoff game against the San Diego Chargers.
Chevrolet, the official game sponsor for Sunday's game and the official vehicle
of the Cowboys, furnished 65,000 red, white and blue pompoms to fans entering
the game, as part of a tribute to the United States. Also, as part of the
Cowboys' halftime ceremony that included the induction of Bob Hayes into the
Cowboys Ring of Honor, Chevrolet provided 35th anniversary convertible Camaros
to bring Hayes and the other members of the Ring of Honor onto the field. In
addition, Chevrolet conducted its Chevrolet Quarterbacks promotion during
halftime, giving Cowboys fans the chance to prove their passing skills and win
their choice of an all-new 2002 Chevy Avalanche or 2002 Chevy Impala.
