How's that for a winter beater. One owner with a Ford 9" rear end with factory 4 wheel disc brakes.

1977 Country Squire - knick named "Woody".

OMG Does that thing come with and anchor!!!!

And...factory in dash 8 track stereo! Factory dual exhaust, air shocks, split front bench seat with dual arm rests, auto climate control!

I get more people asking me about "Woody" than I do with the SS. Go figure!

Oh - and Art, I don't think it's Skyline Drive worthy.

I learned to drive with my Gramp's '72 brown FORD wagon. That thing was a tank. A friend of ours bought it a couple of years ago from him and loved it. Another guy he worked with bought it to take the entire crew to lunch in every day.

Does yours have the flip up seat in the back?

Posted by Hawkeye (Member # 88) on :

Nope- missing 3 options

1) Rear seat
2) Power Seats
3) Cruise Control

According to the original owner he ordered everything else.

I bought a new Ford Country Squire in '72. Mind you, this was in Montreal. It rusted so fast, you could hear it!!!
But I traded a Vega for it which I only kept 6 months...what a horrible car!!! It had been sabotaged at the plant in Lordstown. GM must have done some clean-up work at Lordstown because it was one of the 2 plants that later produced the Camaro IROC.
Go figure.
I've made some (not all) better decisions since then.
'70 Toyota Corolla (My only Japanese car)
'76 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (loaded)
'81 Olds Delta 88 Royale Brougham (loaded. It had the ill-fated Chevy engine but I still got over 200,000 miles on it.
'86 Chevy Camaro IROC TPI ( drove it and loved it for 3 years)
'87 Pontiac 6000SE(loaded like a little Cadillac)
'91 Pontiac Geo(Remember, this was in Toronto in the recession.)
'96 Chevy Cavalier(V-6 4-door)
2000 Chevy Camaro SS

That isn't going to happen ... I bolted on a TOL SLP exhaust, gave his old '86Z LG4 a fresh tune(actually had to bump the timming after the tune up and exhaust install) amazing the car even ran with the dist. rotor contact laying in the bottom of the dist.

Took my brother 2 weeks to explain "my car isn't right, It just would not pull up skyline drive"

LOL ..
