I am a newcomer to SSOA and have a 2000 SS Convertible with SLP added exhaust and the Auburn rear end. I have put in a K&N filter and am interested in putting in a better air box and see some of you guys using the SLP box, others using Whisper, and still a few others. Is there one that is clearly better than others or all they all nearly the same in function? I am interested in air flow more than for good looks.

Thanks for any advice and have a great safe weekend!

That's usually one of the first mods we all did, simple but effective.

You are correct - most will do the job, but also check out ram air mod from "fast toys" or one of the other vendors.

Also if you're doing the air box you may want to look at the MAF as well.

Have fun, don't be afraid to ask questions and questions and more questions!

For a positive fit and durability as well as high airflow, the SLP lid is an excellent choice...You may need a gasket from K&N for the SLP airlid (as well as any other)since the filter is not specifically engineered for the F-body.

I use the Whisper lid. I also installed TByrne's MAF ends. No complaints here!

Hey Joey:

Don't you just love those $0.02 GM air box clips!

I had to take one off and massage it a bit so it would stay down. Now it works
