Okay, it just snowed for the first time this year and the first time since I owned my SS. Everything on it is factory and when I tried to drive my car in just about an inch of slush, I couldn't go anywhere! Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to resolve this issue; snow tires, chains, ect. Unfortuantely it's the only car I drive since I'm only 20. I only live in central PA so it doesn't snow that much, but I hope some people have Ideas. Thanks so much!

Maybe consider a set of take off rims from SLP and a good set of snows. I am sure that you can get around with good snow tires. Performance tires (wide and low profile) are terrible in snow.

Good luck.

I have a set of the SLP take-off Firebird 5 spokes and some Goodyear RSA's for the winter

I know how that is. I live in Indiana and I have trouble sometimes driving my SS in the snow.

snow tires ok, however, do not put on chains, i think they could possibly damage the car. plus the owners manual says not to.

get a set of good snow tires, Like Dan said wide tires will float on the snow and slush. The narrower tire will bite through it better. Add some weight just in front of the rear axle. Some sandbags in the backseat maybe. and most importantly....

Drive carfully in that crap!

Base V6 Camaro Size winter tires and 100-200 lbs of ballast in the trunk works amazingly well.

With photopoint gone and can't show you the pictures.

As a Minnesotan, I advise moving to Florida.

I live in Colorado and have a set of 16" Bridgestone Blizzak MZ01s mounted on 93-96 Z28 wheels. With no ballast in the trunk, I can go just about anywhere in the snow. ASR doesn't even intrude ...

Thanks a lot everyone, further info and suggestions are welcome for everyone to share this winter. Hopefully it won't snow too much...on the contrary, I like to ski...hehehe
