I just bought my first sports car in December. I am not that into cars, but now I would like to get more into it. All of my friends own Ford Lightnings, and I want nothing more that to waste them on the track. What are some inexpensive ways or things that I can do to my 02 SS to make it quicker and faster. Any suggestions would really help out. Thanks, guys.

My finance has a stock '01 Lightning. His best time was a 13.48 @ 102 mph. The Lightning is a fast truck! So my point is that your driving abilities my come into play. And, if your buddies trucks are modded then who knows. We are getting ready to put a new exhaust system on the Lightning that should get it down to 12.7 or 12.8 on stock rubber. The lightning is indeed the quickest truck I've seen.. reminds me of the ole GMC Syclones and Typhoons.. WOOHAA!
I have raced the Lightning on the highway.. at highway speeds the ole 5.7L LS1 will beat them pretty strong.. on the streets in the 0-60mph kinda stuff.. its a close match.. those guys are quicker than snot!
