Let's have a brainstorm/dream session here.
If we start planning now, we could pool an investment into a large piece of land with development potential. Kerm & 'b0 (they're the old farts of the group) can get it rolling with the platting of the lots (1 acre each would be nice). As we retire, we'll each move there, build our dream house and garage and have a private community of nothing but car people.
Now, where is a good place to find that piece of property? Has to be somewhere with year-round mild weather and without natural disasters.....
What else should be on the wish list?
I'll start the list with this:
A community road course and drag strip.
Feel free to elaborate on their development.
I had a similar discussion a few years ago with my friends in Corvallis. Their recommendation was to buy property in Idaho (it's relatively cheap). Then, when the big one (earthquake) comes and the west coast drops into the Pacific, the Idaho property would become premium ocean front.
This continent has too much beauty to commit to one place.

Actually, I think I read a story several years ago about a community somewhere - maybe in CA - that was established by people who loved classic cars. Might want to find out how that went to see if it worth going ahead. They may have already address issues that might need to be considered.
Just a thought,
