Anyone know??...
Why is it that the underbody support for the 6sp convertible cars is the SAME as that of the coupe's (a stamped steel support about 4-5" wide)? ...yet the automatic convertible cars are fitted with the larger (stamped steel) "X-brace" ??

(I realize the tranny's are different and the automatic X-brace probably won't fit on a 6sp) But, I would have thought ANY convertible (auto or 6sp) would have been reinforced more than a coupe...

Anyone know of an X-brace made to fit a 6sp convertible?? (aside from sub-frame connectors)

Thanks, Kevin

What kind of cross brace does the automatic coupe have?

I don't know of an X-brace ... but the SLP driveshaft loop replaced the brace with a heavier steel section .... it also sits a fair amount lower than the factory brace.

Let me add that Rags has a 2002 Conv. If that makes a difference. Maybe they did something different over the last few years.

...The Automatic coupes have a stamped steel brace (about 4-5" wide). Bolts with two bolts to each side of the tunnel, ...about where the Y-pipe ends. ...as mentioned this is the same brace used on a 6sp convertible, ...at least is the case on my '02 convertible (w/6sp) ,... Thanks Joey-Red
