Hi all, I got my SS back from the dealers today! The work done to quiet that clicking noise I was hearing now and then was coming from the rear end. They lubed the yoke and explained to me that the Torsen Differential will make that noise at certian rpm's. They also showed me a memo for all 2000 and up models with this rear that this noise is considered normal. The high option rear dosen't have this noise. I was told that for driving around town in low rpm's I should use drive and for open road use overdrive.I guess I'm still use to a stick but I'll learn to love the auto! Glad they found the noise for you. A Zexel Torsion rear end tend to make a "clunk" type noise when torque is not applied during a coast.

I was told that the drive shaft had to be dropped and " R& R drive shaft and lube yoke " was printed on the work order. Has anybody else had this problem? Posted by Steve da Wrench (Member # 1301) on :
Sounds like dealer lingo for" we dont know whats wrong, but this sounds good", or "here, we will say this so we get paid, but its not really what it took to fix it, like lubing the u-joint that was not done at the factory", etc!!!!
