Ok so i have a friend who tests things on various cars and reports them to the manufacturers. well slp gave him a y pipe to test and after he installed it on his car he lost 3 hs. how can this be possible? has anyone else expierenced this?

Sounds familiar (all figures are averaged over 2-3 runs for each configuration)...

Stock induction:
Stock Pipe - 307.98HP 324.62TQ
SLP Pipe - 304.21HP 322TQ

SLP Air lid/Holley Filter, CAI:
Stock Pipe - 319.15HP 333.87TQ
SLP Pipe - 317.44HP 331.35TQ

why would you lose hp? well at least do you gain more TQ?

Look again...I lost torque, too. I don't know why; maybe it's just something the computer needed to adjust to. But the loss is marginal and the improvement in sound is enough to keep it in place.
