Went to the Northwood Auto show this weekend with my dad and my girlfriend Saturday. My dad and I have been going as long as I can remember. It shows all the newest cars available at this time, plus some old ones, and special vehicles. Nice car show for not being a big "international" show ala Detroit etc. Plus, the campus at the school is always really nice in the fall.

Anyway, on to the cars. I was suprised to see two 2002 Z28's there this year. Kind of ironic as I said on the way that it would be sad this year with no Camaros. Chevy had one of the pace car Vettes there, no Z06 this year. A couple of the new Silverado HD's (drool!) on hand, can't wait to get the SS paid off so I can get one. They had quite a ugly Chevy concept vehicle there too, can't remember the name.

There were a couple brand new H2s there, and a couple full blown Hummers that are owned by local people. The H2 is neat, but nothing beats the real deal.

Lot's of Boxters at the Porsche tent this year. One Carerra (sp?). No Ferraris, one Lamborghini Diablo. Man, that car is purty. A few older Mazarodies (sp? again) too.

Ford had an original Mach 1, and the new Mach 1. NO 2003 Cobra, so needless to say, we didn't spend much time at the Ford tent. We did see a SLP Thunderbolt, nothing really special, sorry SLP.

Dodge had the new 500 HP Viper there. Those chrome 10 spoke wheels and new hood scoop sure do look familiar.... Also, they had one of the last Prowlers on display.

There were tents by most major automobile manufacturers there. We looked at two seaters from just about everyone as my gf really wants one. About the only one in a decent price range (under $25,000) was the Miata, though I could barely fit in it being over 6 foot tall. Harley had a V-Rod there, man, if I were to get a bike, that'd be it. Really cool looking.

The highlight (for me at least) was Berger's 435 HP yellow Camaro SS (I think it's a 2002). While, I don't care for the yellow, the rest of the car was downright badass. They fired it up, and it sounded like it was getting ready to roll over to the Saleen parked next to it and beat it up. Snagged me a poster of a Berger Camaro, white with the orange stripes.

All in all it was a fun morning, and a nice way to see some nice new cars without the crowds at the major auto shows.
