Today i was driving home from work and noticed that my temp gague was not reading. I found that weird, but drive home. When i was there i turned off the car, then turned the car back on, and the gague worked for about 5 seconds, then went back to the no reading. all of my other gagues work. I doubt there is a single fuse for just that gague, so i was wondering if it is the cluster itself, and if so how long does it take for the dealearship to do this under warranty. I am going to check the sensor wire tomorrow, but am sure that has not come undone. I have not touched it yet. Posted by DaddySS (Member # 848) on :
Sounds like either the senso or guage is bad, either one should be quick fix for the dealer.

If you didn't get a service engine light my guess is the ECM is getting the signal and the problem is in the guage or wiring.
I forgot to reconnect the wire on the sensor once and got a service engine light right away. Took a few starts to get it to go away.

When the gauge is acting up,check the resistance of the sender to ground. An open or short will indiacate a bad sender. Apply ground to the sender wire and see if the gauge responds. If it does not, check the wiring to the cluster to see if there is any opens,if ok and good connections, the cluster is probably bad.
