Have you folks seen the latest "guilt trip" by the anti-SUV types?
"What kind of car would Jesus drive?"
IIRC, Jesus was a carpenter. What to carpenters drive? How about a one ton dually pickup with a big tool box and racks to carry lumber.
Later, when he was traveling with his 12 friends he'd have driven a 35 foot motor home. Not very fuel efficient, unless you compare it to the cost of a caravan of 4 or five smaller cars.
Whoever thought up this campaign has their head firmly planted "where the sun don't shine!"

I heard that there are protesters near the GM headquarters where the Fbodfather works. Don't these people have a job to go to or a life? I wonder how many of them drive a SUV? Posted by 35TH ED/ed (Member # 1709) on :

You forgot the Duramax engine.....With the H2 as a personal vehicle. Posted by Z28-SORR (Member # 1565) on :
The H2 is obvious! 40 days in the wilderness, and nothing but donkey trails and sheep meadows, how else would he and his bud's get around??

I like some of the responses and agree that it is extremely ill-conceived campaign. It's also uniquely American. (duckin' and runnin')
BTW,
- I think the correct question would be "What would Jesus have me drive?"
- The leaders of this campaign should take it to their congregations, educate them, and let them lead by example.

Seriously, there was an editorial in the latest Car and Driver or Autoweek on this very subject. Good reading. Debunks the whole SUV myth.

I don't recall reading it. What is the "SUV myth?"

I probably shouldn't chime in on this one..but hey, since when did I EVER shut up about something.
I would like to think that I have a pretty good relationship with my maker. But I resent the heck out of these people pulling such a stunt. I believe it is terrible to bring Jesus' name into this.
I want to say to them: "Would Jesus want you to give up all your money and worldly goods???" and watch their reaction.
