MY02SSLE(Matt)took these pictures at the Berger Chevrolet All Chevy Show last September. Oh, what memories! I think I can still find rubber in my wheel wells from that 1/8 mile long,smokey burnout my SS did when it lost traction off the line at the new U.S. 131 Motorsports Park. Darn car was a handful to keep straight and I was pedaling the gas all the way down the track while it was on and off the rev limiter.LOL! Ran a 17.09@ 95 mph! Here are the unseen pictures [Cool]

That is a lot of rubber on those back fenders. LOL looks like fun.

Yes there was a lot of rubber. The whole wheel lip,wheel well and 1/4 panel had more than 1/4" thick of rubber on them. Fun while I was at the track and no fun trying to clean all of the rubber off later. I spent 1 1/2 hours just cleaning the rubber off,not including washing the rest of the car.It was everywhere and had baked on.Even the track announcer mentioned that the run was not very pretty,but put on one heck of a show! [Big Grin]

you may want to consider putting on some clear plastic wrap on those back fenders for next time. Hawkeye can tell you where to get it. a lot of people used it or something similar when they drove all the way to BG. that way you can just peel it off.

I drove the car to the track with the front end bra and mud flaps but took them off because they look like heck. Never intenionally spin the tires and never expected that run would go up in smoke like a Top Fuel dragster. Next time I will clip on the mud flaps. [Big Grin]

Our mud flaps saved the paint on our SS driving through Wyoming construction on our way back from Bowling Green, KY this past September. Take a look at what the mud flaps caught that would have been distributed onto our paint if they hadn't been there.

They're held on with binder clips from the Office Depot Race Shop. When not filled with mud, they blend in just fine and are hardly noticed. We have them on the front and rear. They line up with the tires very well.

I also use the same binder clips that Teri and Steve use to secure the mud flaps. They stay on at over 100 mph. I did loose a flag on the rear while going to the Ontario Camaro Nationals in Niagra Falls this year. The strange thing is the clips were still on the car. Easy on easy off! [Smile]
