For those with that gorgeous color NBM...

I just found the Welly 1:18 Camaro SS in
your color @ KBtoys... $16.99

I bought it!

I have not even seen that color listed
on any diecast site yet.

Its gorgeous...

Hopefully they will do LPM next...that
way I won't have to strip and paint one
my color!

I've been looking for a navy blue 4.5 gen SS as well. Maybe there will be someone selling them on an internet site to order from.

Hello all, I read this post last night. I went to the nut house (the mall) this morning. I checked in KB and there was 3 new Wellys Camaro SS.

1 NBM, 1 Black, 1 LE

I already have 2 LEs. One for shows and one for home display. If a club member wants any of these for their personal use, LMK. Please respond only if you intend on keeping the model for yourself.

Well...interesting that you should bring that up.
If you look at an original 1968 Camaro Sales Brochure like the one pictured (sorry, best pic
I could come up with) its the same way. Did
early production see some of the cars built this
way? My car was an early production car. Thats
the way it came when I got her...I almost switched
it to the "Camaro" script from pressure of others
when I painted her. I decided not to mess with
the car...restored her the way I got her. I have
seen a couple other photos that represent this
same thing. Is it wrong? I don't know... Was
it a running producton change? I don't know...

I like it because it makes it unique! [Smile] ...and
when people point out that its wrong....I whip
out the original sales brochure and say "is it?" [Wink]

Im not the original owner...im the fourth. The
2nd and 3rd owners kept selling it back and forth
to eachother. I have quite a bit of paperwork
on it. She had original paint and original
interior when I bought her. She was a loaded
un-molested car with everything but powerwindows.
The only big changes when I got her were the tranny
was changed to a TH400 from the powerglide and
front discs were added...which is what I would have
done anyway.

If its a fake...its a damn good one. At this point...
I really don't care. When I restored her, she
got an un-original color and I even painted the
back panel satin black (ala the big blocks) even
though she is not a 396.

I love her and will NEVER part with her.

Hmmmmm...my sources say the TH400 was only
available with the 396 325-350 HP (L34 & L35). Right
on the sales information and in Camaro White
Book it shows available trannies for the 295HP
Turbo-Fire 350 V8. The Powerglide (M35) is
the only available auto for the 350 SS.

Also check the info at CRG Camaro Research Group
which is a goldmine of data.

http://www.camaros.org/diffs68.shtml

Other available 350 SS trans:
M13 - Special 3-speed
M15 - standard 3-speed
M20 - 4-speed

M22 was only available with L78/L89 375HP 396/or Z28

M21 was available with L34/L78
