Should my husband and I trade/sell our 2002 Camaro SS LE so we can get a 50th Anniversary Corvette or should we keep the Camaro and forget about the Corvette.

We don't know what to do [confused] [confused] . We love the Camaro but we really like the Vette too.

I agree. I wouldn't trade that SS on a 50TH. It is a beautiful color but that is all. I have a Z06 and I have to say, I would probably trade my SS for a Z06 knowing what I know. Of course, the best is what I have, both!

Funny, I started my car shopping looking for a 50th vette and ended up with a 35th LE vert. I just couldn't get past the fact, that Chevy won't let you have their best vette engine in the 50th Anniversary wrapping. I know you can get a Z06 and it will have the 50th badging as all 03 vettes do, but definetly no verts with 405 hp. I choose the SS LE for its limited production, its beautiful styling, and I optioned it out fully (345hp plus extras) and still got the convertible.

Last thing to consider: You'll take a good hit on the LE if you sell now. [Frown]

Having said all that: the 5th gen vettes are incredible [Big Grin]

Let us know what direction you went.

That's a tough one. The 50th is a beautiful car, and you could probably mod it up a bit for some extra ponies but when I sit in them I'm just not that impressed with it versus the SS. I think it comes to this..do you want to own a Camaro or a Corvette. Whatever that answer is, go with it. I know right now the dealers are looking for Camaros so you would probably get good value for the LE.

Z06, but not a "stocker" even if it DOES say 50th

J.R. what is your opinion? [Smile]

I'd go for the Viper! Sorry wrong car.

Tough choice, both good cars, you can always get another Vette - but a 35th LE, may be tough to find in a few years.

You can't go wrong either way!

The problem is I want both. I have had the Camaro for a year and I never drive it. It only has 1,000 miles on it. I think if I got the Corvette I would drive it more than the Camaro since I know that they are still producing the Corvette.

So....if someone would like to send several shoe boxes full of $100.00 bills it would be greatly appreciated. That way I could have them both. [Wink]

Being that I like the Camaro more than the Vette, if it were me I would keep the Camaro. [Smile]

I would also love to own a corvette myself (zo6), But NO WAY would I trade in my 35th for one, I will wait and get one in future, my baby is here to stay.

No shoebox, but a couple of comments. [Big Grin]

I feel there's very little to compare between the two cars (just the engine?) and both have their pro's and con's as stated above.

My 2 cents. The Corvette is technically the superior car designed for the new millenium. As a result, it's the better all round road cruiser with it's hi-tech suspension, transmission, etc.. The car provides the driver an awesome good looking road car, right out of the showroom. It's a car that can only be modified to a limited extent, and you pay a premium for this hi-tech machine.

The Camaro on the other hand is a 'hot rodder's car, with it's '70's suspension, awesome LS-1, hump in the floor, and good looks. All these just waiting for the hot rodder to modify and tailor to his or her own preferences.

So, if you want all-round performance in a good looking package, and don't want to go the modification route, buy the Corvette. But if you can't leave your hands off a car, want a great looking straight line performer, and are continuously looking for ways to go faster, handle better, and improve the looks (and want a back seat [Big Grin] ), the Camaro is the choice.

What JohnS said is correct.

Then it is one year into being paid for! Keep it, drive it (in nice weather, of course), and see what happens in a year or two.

Besides, how many late model Corvettes do you see on a daily basis? Now, how many 35th SS LE's do you see??? Do you get stares and comments when you drive the LE? Do you like that feeling? [Cool]

I saw the 50th Corvettes on display at the NCM at the BG gathering. They looked fine to me but I don't think I would trade my SS LE for one - at least not yet. The SS LE is a piece of automotive history - and a cool car too.

Alicia...let me tell you this...i sold my 1994 Corvette for a Camaro for these purposes.....
1. The car has 4 seats so i can still look cool and put some friends cramed into the back seats...lol
2. The Camaro is no longer available and if you go to buy another one in a few yrs you most likely will pay top dollar for it.
3. the car is just cool and i wouldnt trade it for the world.
4. And where else are you going to get a bunch of friends like us?
Dont get me wrong...im sure corvette owners are wonderful....but the club i belonged to here in NJ were a bunch of guys that thought there S**T didnt stink and I didnt want to be associated with that type of moral! They just dont make people like Camaro owners!

Ditto [Smile]

It took me 25 years to get another Camaro And I wouldn't get rid of it now. The wife had a Corvette last year for 90 days and even though it was great it still had something missing. I think its just driving by another Camaro and getting/giving the thumbs up is a good feeling. Keep the LE drive it enjoy it have some fun. [Smile]
