Wondered if anyone else in the are had seen the new GTO yet, and if so, what were opinions? Apparently when the show car was unveiled, it was like an old home week for ex-GTO owners! Couple of comments they had, according to people in the Pontiac booth...the ex-owners didn't like the spoiler...maybe because the original didn't have one when it started life...and the new GTO should have had a RamAir hood scoop, again like the original.
When I first saw it, even though I had seen pictures, it surprised me by how "euro" it looked...but I kinda warmed to it after scouting the rest of the (huge!) show and coming back a couple of times.
it also has only! 340 hp, but there are rumors of an LS-6, and 405 hp for the next model year. I still feel if this car sells well, and it IS a limited edition, the new Camaro will follow along the same lines. Styling differences, but the same platform and engine combos.
Sure hope someone else sees it so we have some other opinions.
I also saw a Camaro owner on another site saying he had a deposit on a GTO. Anyone else?
$32-34,000
Production starts at the Holden plant in Elizabeth, Australia next month with deliveries to dealers near the fall.

The morning paper had a picture of that motorcycle. The report said they 'might' produce the 300MPH bike. I think it was just a publicity stunt - and it worked.

They also had pictures of the new Mustang - the side shot made the rear end look like that of the current Corvette. And a picture of the new F150 - which looked a lot like the Avalanche to me. (Don't get started on the Avalanche styling - I like it) [Razz]

There was also a picture of the new Toyota minivan but that was probably just because they are made about 25 miles north of here.

I must have missed the photo and article about the 2003 Camaro. [Frown]
