Had just pulled out of the drive & was like one house up & realized I forgot something. Put the turnsignal on to turn left into a small parking lot & turn around....
Guy coming up behind me tries to go around me & T-Bones me in the door.
Anyone wanna post any of the pics?
If so email me at this email address ... gordona@bavauto.com
Here that accident would be your fault. Hopefully your jurisdiction sees it differently.

Sorry to hear that. Can you upload the pictures to a site like www.webshots.com or www.netsnapshot.com ?

HUH? How could it be the fault of the person doing the left turn???
Anyway....'tis his fault according to the ins. claim.
I can't load the pictures from work here... can just email em.

Our question exactly. I have two friends that have been involved in that type of collision, the vehicle making the left turn at fault in both situations. It had something to do with the broken yellow lines on the roadway and right-of-ways ... stupid as it may sound.
Glad to hear it worked out better for you ... saw the pics ... looks like it could have been at lot worse.

poSSum - the vehicle that hit Gordon was coming up behind him, not towards him. In otherwords going to pass him on drivers left and didn't see/heed the blinker. So he got in the drivers door, not the passenger door.

75% fault for the driver making the left, 25% fault for the person overtaking - that's here.
the theory is you should give a quick look into your side view mirror before making the left, just in case someone is attempting to overtake.
imagine, cruising down a two lane highway, approaching a slower vehicle, about to overtake, pull into the left lane to pass, and the vehicle being overtaken decides to turn left into a farmers driveway. He signals left and starts to turn without a quick peek into the side view mirror, bang!! Who's fault??

From the pics, looks like it's a small road with no turning/passing lane. Just an assumption, if a car is gonna try passing you in the oncoming traffic lane (with no broken yellow line) Wouldn't it be all his fault then if he's trying to do an illegal pass? Sounds like you were going slow on that snowy road and a 4x4 comes barreling along and thinks he can get by. Just glad you're okay!
