Blazer had power steering failure (needed new mechanism installed) and a bad oil leak where some lines had come apart.. (at 35700 miles).. they fixed it under warranty.
Now this morning.. my car wont even try to crank.. we've tried everything.. checked fuses.. etc etc.. nothing will do it.. car definately has battery.. the car is at 36800 miles now.. I can pretty much forget about any warranty help right? I got her towed this morning to the dealership just down the road.. but am curious.. do the dealers ever step right outside the warranty.. or is 36001 the end of the road.

depends on your relationship with the dealer. Many dealers want to keep you as a cutomer and will right it up as a continuation of a prior complaint.

Well I spoke to my dealer about it this morning (they still haven't diagnosed whats wrong) but he said it's out of the dealership's hands and gave me the standard GM 800-222-1020 number and said they write up all orders past warranty as non-warranty.. but that if I felt like calling, that I could.
Hmm.. I'm not a complainer.. I guess this is one of those things where I am out of warranty.. so the right thing to do is just pay for the repair?

Your vehicle is just out of warranty.Maybe they will do a good will warranty adjustment. I had got stuck paying for a tire balance from a local dealer when my 2002 SS had 3,400 miles on it. The wheel balance is covered until 7500 miles. The service manager just argued with me and I paid the bill. They just lost a customer!Good luck!

Like Hawkeye said, ...technically, you're out of coverage, ...BUT a "good" dealer will help you out, ...especially if they see the car is well cared for (obviously yours is).

J.R. - How many miles were on it when you bought? Your warranty actually starts from the odometer at time of delivery. Unfortunately, I'm guessing it was still less than 800 but maybe it'll be close enough, especially given its recent problems under warranty.

By all means go ahead and call, you have nothing to lose.
My brother had an oldsmobile and the clutch went out of warranty. The clutch and pressure plate blew up into lot's of pieces and locked up the car. I told him to call GM because that's not a normal occurance. (he was 15K out of warranty). it's one thing to wear it out, and another to blow up.
GM agreed and paid for the repair.
Worst case, you pay for it. best case, you don't!
