I just finished installing my new SLP 85mm MAF and smooth bellow. With all the snow on the ground and more coming,it will be at least another month or longer before I'll be driving the SS to see if I can tell any differents in performance. Now I need to look into another exhaust system.

Congrats! It will be interesting to see whether or not you get any "SOP" gains - the results have been very mixed.

I'm recommending the GMMG by the way. Other strong choices:
Random Tech - one of the better sounds, good flow.
SLP Dual/Dual - "established" system, good mild sound.
Dynomax - Good sound, good flow.

Just my .02 [Smile]

Congrats on your mods, it does stink to have to wait until better weather to see the results. Come on spring! [Razz]

I have just did the same mods to my SS. SLP 85mm MAF (I removed the screen), SLP smooth bellows, and Mufflex 4" exhaust system. I also bought a MAF translator from Ramchagers. My car feels vary strong now with these new mods. I think you will be happy with the results. [Smile]

I have the same MAF with smooth bellow. I feel the difference particularly under sudden, heavy acceleration or full throttle. You'll like it.

I had my car dynoed last weekend and found a couple of interesting things.

First pull was 309hp. Removed MAF screen and hp jumped to 319hp.

Last run we just pulled the IAT sensor wire off and put down 320.8hp.

MAF screen removal was a big gain,

When you pull off the the screen, it's not a bad idea to check your A/F ratio on the dyno with the O2 wideband sensor. It is common to end up running too lean at WOT with this mod. That being said, it seems that every car reacts differently to this mod and your A/F ratio may remain unaffected. It's sdefinitely a crapshoot on this one.
I only bring this up because when I did this mod, I also felt a nice SOTP difference, but unfortunately it leaned out the car too much. Detonation is not a good thing.
FWIW

Best regardSS,

Elie

We did check air fuel ratio. On first run numbers were around 12.0-12.2 range and after the MAF screen was removed it was in the 12.8-12.9 range.

Do you think this is an acceptable ratio?

Based on my limited knowledge of this, I think the first set of numbers were a little on the rich side and after the MAF screen was out it put me in a range that I think is a little leaner but where you really want to be to make good horsepower.
