A friend of mine was killed in an accident today around 5pm this evening. He was driving his nassau blue corvette with a passenger and he struck a telephone pole and was killed instantly the passenger is in critical care. It is so sad to see a fellow car nut pass on when they are so young. He was 33 yrs old! Too young to die!
please keep him in your thoughts and prayers
RIP Romolo

yes, that is Romy he was so funny always making us laugh about silly things. he once made up a poem for christmas about car and our friends from Cartek...it was very funny...here look at this.......
you laugh.......
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through carteks garage, Not a phone was ringing, or a wrench being dropped; The tools were hung in the tool box with care, In hopes that Dave, roy ,rich , and julio soon would be there; The cartek inner circle members were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of x-packages danced in their heads; And Lara in her lingerie, and I in my cap, Had just settled down for a long winter's nap, When out on the dyno there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the dyno room I flew like a flash, Tore open the doors broke off the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a black c5 hard top, and eight tiny reindeer, With a 6 foot 5 ...280 pound driver, so muscular and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Big Mike stealth ...the south jersian hick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name; "Now, Mark! now, Billy! now, brent and Rob! On, Maxxy! on Rommy! on, Blissy and Bob! To the top of the dyno! to the top of the lift! Now dash away! and go drop off those friggen gifts!!
So up to the roof top of the garage the coursers they flew, With the c5 full of x-packages, and BIG MIKE too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The 415 motor revving of Mikes fixed roof coupe. As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, Down the chimney Big Mike came tumbling down.
He was dressed in leather from his head to his foot, And his clothes smelled like racing fuel and soot; A bundle of heads and cams he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And modified every c5; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his corvette, to his team gave a whistle, And screeched his tires all flew away like missles. But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight, "HAPPY DRAG RACING TO ALL......AND TO ALL A GOOD NITE."

So Sorry to hear such bad news. This has not been such a good few weeks for you. How is the job search going? Try not to sell the beast if possible.
Have faith. Things will get better.
Prayin' for ya,

I am sorry for your friend........ Posted by king t (Member # 1785) on :
Erin,
I was reading the poem when I realized that the Rich and Julio at Cartek must be the one in Garwood. They modified the trans in my 84 rod when Ab was doing the transes for them. Great job and a good bunch of guys. That trans is bulletproof.
If you haven't moved the Camaro by April 27, bring it to the Cops and Rodders Show at Devry College of Technology on Route 1 in North Brunswick. Registration by 11 AM.
If you go, look for me with my 02 SS LE, plate # MY4EVER. I'll look for your flames. Good show. They're there by the hundreds and it's an early season show.
Your fellow Jerseyan, T
