... up to N.Brunswick, NJ for the 'uge car show put on by the N. Brunswick Police Dept. April 27th from 9 am 'til ????

All pre-registered cars, at 15 bux, will get a plaque. Not a small dash type plaque, but a real, hang on the wall type plaque. Here's A LINK to more details.

Several of us enthusists from the MD/DC/VA area are cruzin' up on Saturday, some down from NY and staying at the Ramada Inn on Rt 18, hangin' out together that evening, then in the early morning (~0715) we'll head over to a staging area where we'll get together with the locals and get a NBPD escort to the show location. We'll have a (large) space in the show already set aside for us, as well as an open Registration lane to get in.

Last year we had ~36 cars in the escort, with several already inside. This year, we'll run a tighter schedule so we can all show up, in force, together.

Wanna go? Post it up here and I'll start the list. There will be more info soon, such as accomodations, rates, routes and more. So, stay tuned.

Attendees:

Where would you all be meeting in NJ to go in together? I'm from Harrisburg, but might wanna drive out. Sounds like a cool event.

... we'd be meeting on Sunday morning, early, at the Sears parking lot, north of DeVry, on Rt 1. Then with our NBPD escort head down to DeVry, where we'll have our own check-in lane.
If you want to come in on Saturday, I'm going to setup a block of rooms at the Ramada Inn that's close by, when I have a better idea of the number of who's coming and staying Saturday night.

Anyone who hasn't gone to this show I highly recommend it, always a great turnout and a lot of fun....a word of warning if youre just going to look, and not showing a car....they park visitors in grass/mud.... All money raised is used by NB PBA for charity work

P.S. the Rt 130/Rt. 1 circle has been changed, when you are approaching Rt 1 on Rt 130 the road is a mess take it slow and be careful...maybe it'll be done by then?

... those that are cruising in on Saturday from far away places will probably be staying at the Ramada Inn on Rt 18. That way we'll come up to Rt 1, circle back under Rt 18 and that'll led us right into the staging area at Sears.
I'll be setting up something with the hotel in the coming weeks for those that need accomodations.

Will Drive down sat depending on the cost of the room. But sounds like a nice day trip anyway.

Sounds like fun.

Dan, you gotta drive right past me to get there. If we could get Ralph and a few others , we could cruise up together. Take 76 east to the turnpike.. then to Rt1 north of Philly..around Trenton...and continue up to NB.

I'll have hotel info by the end of the week. As far as meeting up on the way, those that are coming up from the south can meet those coming out of Philly around Cherry Hill and we could all run up the NJTP as a group.
<Historical Note> It started with SLP Day. It was learned that this event was always the day after, so some of us decided to stay and attend. We've been going every year. Our group is given a substantial chunk of the parking lot so we can all park as one big group, since we've been coming to this event for the last several years. Now that SLP Day has been moved to OCT, this becomes a cruise all for itself. <E>

Dan,
Ralph said he take a pass on this one. Still trying to talk him into going. We don't get a chance to see fellow club members that often. Wouldn't hurt to have a few more NE SSOA members that are planning to attend put a bug in his ear about attending. [Wink]

Hotel info is in the starting post. There is a link to the place. I haven't yet tried to get a block of rooms, as I don't have a required number of those needed. If ya want, I'll call and talk to them to get a block of 6 or so.

If we gotta be at the staging area @ 7:00am, I'll have to stay at the Ramada on Sat eve. AND I'm still going to have a hell of a time handling the "copperhead" at that time of the morning. -

Dan, any interest in going up the night b4?

Well, I dont have da money to stay over night. And if you're all meeting at 7am, that means I'd have to leave at 4am form here! So if I'm coming, I'll be leaving at the crack of dawn. Wish I could meet up with you all the night before, but oh well. I'm not 100% sure I'm goin yet either. We'll see.

Sorry, folks. Gotta back out of this one. I didn't realize that I was already committed to a different event. We miss all of you and hope to see you as soon as possible.

Take care.

LARGE F-Body Gathering in New Jersey

9th Annual Cops & Rodders Car Show-North Brunswick NJ

The F-Body response has been amazing.

Looks like we might hit between 75-100 F-Bodys participating in the Escort into the Cops and Rodders Car show~!

Help make this one of the bigger F-Body events

All F-Bodys meet at the Sears parking lot at 7:30am on April 27th.

We will meet up there, then head over to the show as a group.

The Sears is located on Route One southbound, just south of Route 18.

EMail me at NBP555@AOL.com and I will EMail you back a Registration form.

The North Brunswick NJ Police Dept Death, Retirement, Widows & Orphans Fund will be holding our 9th Annual Cops and Rodders Car Show on Sunday, April 27th 2003.

Last year we had over 500 cars at the show, and is growing each year.

It will be held at the DeVry College of Technology on Route One northbound, mid way between Route 130 and Route 18 on April 27th, with a rain date of May 4th.

All Pre-registered Vehicle are guaranteed a Plaque.
Pre-registration is $15.00, and must be received by April 15th .

On site registration is $18.00 the day of the event

Anyone wishing a Registration form or has any questions can EMail me at NBP555@AOL.com, and I will send it out.

Most of the Information is on the Registration Form, but I'll give you some highlights here.

This is the 9th year of the show. Our 1st year we had 88 cars show, and it has been building every year. Last year we had well over 500 cars show, making us one of the bigger shows around for what we are.
All kinds of cars show up, both old and newer. Everyone like the mix of cars that show up, and that it is early in the year, where people are itching to the their rides outta the garage.

There is no "official" judging of cars. We give out trophys, but regular people give them out to the cars they like.

If your group would like to give out trophys amongst your club, you can do that. You can bring your own, or buy Trophy(s) from us to give out your group. The cost of a Trophy from us is $150. Where we make the money for the fund is from Trophy sales, food, shirts. Clubs in the past have collected money from it's members, and bought the trophy(s) from us to give as they wished amongst their club. If you'd like to buy trophy, let me know.

Admission for spectators is free.

Registration fee is $15 per car if you Pre-Register before April 15th.

Registration fee is $18 at the gate the day of the show.

ALL Pre-Registered cars will receive a participation Plaque.

Also the day of the show, as you enter, we take a picture of you in your car, and we put it in a Plaque that you can purchase if you like.

We also sell food and shirts at the show.

The date of the show is April 27th, with a rain date of May 4th.

It starts at 9am, and ends at 2pm. Try to show up before 9am, as it takes time to get over 500 cars into the show.

It is held at the DeVry College of Technology, which is on Route One northbound in North Brunswick, midway between Route 130, and Route 18.

Anything else you need, let me know at NBP555@AOL.com

So far we have 300 cars Pre-Registered, which beats last years record of 210 Pre-Registers~!

Last year's Show had 500 Cars, so this year we might be close to 600 Cars~!

Of the 300 Pre-Registers, 80 are Firebirds/Camaros~!

Included in that Pre-Registered group is a 1967 Camaro,
five 1969 Camaros, one each of 1973 & 1974.

Also two 1976 TransAms, and a 1978 TransAm.

Hey Erin,

Chris and I are thankful you were there to help out. You are one resourceful chick. I can't believe that you will no longer have the purple princess. We did have a lot of fun with you and I was grateful that he picked on you for a while instead of me.

Everyone, we did have an emergency last night that needed out attention in the most serious way; Erin needed hair gel and the mission was sucessful.

We want to say HI to the people we missed today like Chris, Kevin, Joey, Ralph and Glenn and Mary. We hope to see you all soon.

Chris and Jen [Cool]
